• Bring the ‘Easter story’ to people in St Neots who aren’t familiar with the story of Christ’s Passion and Resurrection,
• Encourage local Christians in their faith
• Act as a means of strengthening community within the town
• Attract new people to visit St Neots.

Agreement has been reached with St Neots Town Council to produce the play on Easter Sunday, 2010 (April 4th). The play will consist of a series of scenes, each an integral part of the Easter story. Each scene will be acted in a different part of town, with a natural progression from scene to scene, starting off with the Triumphal Entry and concluding with the Resurrection. A significant number of key actors will be required who will be involved throughout the play, large numbers of people will be required to give authenticity to the crowd scenes. Music will also be key to the production with choirs and bands taking part in different scenes.

It is not envisaged that the play will be an ‘act of worship’, rather a performance that can be enjoyed by both Christians and people of other faiths (or none). The event will be very interactive, with onlookers encouraged to take part in crowd scenes (especially notable ones such as the Triumphal entry and the Trial of Christ). The whole event will last about 2 ½ hours in length, this giving time for the acting, music and movement between scenes.
